Recital General Info
This is the big day your dancer has worked for all year! Your dancer will be very excited and it’s going to be so much fun to take the stage and perform! We want to make this experience the best it can be for you and your dancer, so please continue to read all the details below carefully.
Dancers are to arrive at 2:15pm and enter through the LOBBY OF THE AUDITORIUM. From there you will check in at the table in the hallway to your right and both the parent/guardian and dancer will receive a wristband. Dancers will be taken to their assigned dressing room by a staff member. PARENTS/GUARDIANS ARE NOT PERMITTED PAST THIS POINT.
Dancers will need to be checked in at the check-in table to the right of the auditorium lobby by ONE parent/guardian. From there they will be taken to their assigned dressing room by a staff member. Parents/guardians are NOT permitted past the check in table.
ONE parent or guardian must drop off the dancer.
When checking dancers in, the dancer and parent/guardian will receive matching wristbands. This wristband will need to be provided to pick up your dancer. The names on the wristbands must match. If this wristband is lost, ID will be required to pick up the dancer.
Yes! Dancers should arrive at the venue in costume, hair, and makeup. We will not be available to help dancers with their hair or makeup before the show. If a dancer is in multiple numbers, they should wear their costume for their first dance in the show.
No. With the exception of Tiny Twirlers PINK dancers and the Saturday 9:30am ages 2-3 Tiny Tumblers class, all dancers must remain backstage until the end of the show. Dancers will come back out for a final bow and finale dance at the end of the show. Parents may NOT come back stage during intermission. We try our best to keep everything organized backstage and for safety reasons cannot allow parents to pick up dancers until the end of the show ensuring we have a head count and can keep everyone safe.
Following final bows:
All dancers will return to their dressing rooms. Please allow us 5-10 minutes to bring the dancers back to their dressing room before coming back to pick them up.
At this time ONE parent or guardian (the same one who checked them in) may come to their dancers assigned dressing room door to pick up their dancer. Dressing room numbers/assignments can be found written on your wristband or by matching the color wristband to the color sign on the door. The parent/guardian picking the dancer up must be the same one that dropped off the dancer. Either their wristband or a valid ID is required to pick up a dancer.
You may pick your dancer up during intermission at the check in table where they were dropped off. For the safety of all students backstage, parents may not go past this table. Your child will be brought to the table to meet you. The same parent or guardian who dropped off the dancer must be the only person to come pick them up. We will have someone stationed at this table to check wristbands. Dancers can sit on your lap for the remainder of the show and do not need a ticket.
Please be considerate of your fellow audience members and treat our dancers with the respect that they deserve during their performance. We want you to sit back and enjoy the moment and not have to watch your child perform through a screen.
For that reason we will not allow any photos or videos of the performers onstage and will be providing digital download of the professional video of the show (View the recital video tab for more information).
This is a great opportunity to review audience etiquette with our younger audience members.
Flash photography is not permitted. It is distracting to dancers on stage. We want our dancers to be able to perform their best so we ask that you please refrain from taking photos and videos during the performance.
All audience members must stay in their assigned/chosen seat for the performance. Changing seats in NOT permitted.
No. Parents/Guardians are not allowed backstage during the show. We will have multiple volunteers and staff members backstage to assist dancers with costume changes. Please make sure your dancer has ALL of their belongings (shoes, costumes, etc.) are labeled with their FULL FIRST and LAST name before the show so we know which costume belongs to which dancer.
Dancers will not be able to watch the show. Dancers must stay in their assigned dressing rooms for the duration of the show.
All children should bring their dance bags with their shoes, any additional costumes and a water bottle. Again, please ensure any medication required is packed and clearly labelled with instructions.
Your child should arrive in their first costume with full makeup and hair but may bring any makeup for touch ups. Dance shoes, tights, socks and dance under garments should be labeled. For dancers in more than once dance, don’t forget your additional costumes too! These are best hung on hangers and protected in a costume bag that is clearly labeled, so please keep and use the ones provided by the studio.
Make sure EVERYTHING has your child's name on it. Often belongings get left at recital. This would make it easier for our staff to return any lost items!
Our venue is very strict about no food or drinks anywhere inside the performing arts center. We want to respect their rules and leave the space cleaner than we found it and be allowed to return next year so please DO NOT pack any food or drinks for your child other than water. Dancers should eat a snack prior to coming to the venue.
We will not allow any photos or videos of the performers onstage and will be providing digital download of the professional video of the show (View the recital video tab for more information).
